Yet Another Pixel Dungeon

YetAnotherPixelDungeon(orYetAnotherPDforshort)isaroguelikeRPGwithpixelgraphicsandsimplecontrols.Likemostothergamesinthisgenre,itfeaturesrandomlygeneratedlevels,relativelyhighdifficultyandalargenumberofthingstolearn.Andlikemostothergamesofitsgenre,itisquitechallenging.

ThisgameisbasedonthesourcecodeofanotherAndroidgame,PixelDungeon.Itbeganasasmallprojectwiththegoaltoimprovetheoriginalgamehereorthere,buthassincegraduallygrownintosomethingmuch,muchbigger.Thegamesarequitedifferentfromeachother,sothereisnoneedtoplaytheoriginalgamebeforetryingthisone(butIwouldrecommendtotryitaswell,it'sgood).

ThemainfeatureofYetAnotherPDwhichmakesitdifferentfromoriginalgameandothermodsisthatitismostlyfocusedontweakinggamemechanicsinordertomakethegamemoreinteresting,diverseandbalanced.AnyonewhoisfamiliarwiththeoriginalgamewillhavemuchtolearnagaininYAPD.

Thefeaturesofthismodatthispoint:

-Fourcharacterclasseswerereworkedandnowhavedifferentstrengthsandweaknesses

-Fourdifficultyvariants,toprovideadequatechallengeforeverytypeofaplayer

-Avarietyofequipmentoptions-dualwielding,firearms,shields,andmore!

-Mostenchantmentsontheweaponsandarmornowaremorepowerfulthanbefore

-Environmentnowaffectsstealthandevasion,encouragingamoretacticalapproach

-Allbosseshavebeencompletelyorpartiallyreworkedandarenowevenmoreepic!

-Newitems,enemies,traps,andinteractionsaddedbetweenthem!

-Loadingtipsandmoredetailedinformationaboutitemsandcharacterstats

-Improveduserinterface-auto-aiming,extendedjournalandotherstuff

-Bothnewandmodifiedpotions,scrolls,wands,ringsandotheritems...

-Healing,stealth,wandusageanditemdurabilitysystemswerereworked!

-Manyoldenemiesgainednewabilitiesorweremovedtootherpartsofthedungeon

-Eachchapternowcontainssixfloors(atotalof31floordungeoninsteadof26)

-Shopsarenowoneveryfifthlevel,andtheirassortmenthasbecomemorevaried

-Evenmorefeaturesarecominglatersincethisprojectisstillindevelopment!

YetAnotherPDisabsolutely,totallyandcompletelyfree.Therearenoadvertisements,microtransactionsorlimitedaccess,andwillneverbe.Eventhe“donate”buttonwasonlyaddedmuchlaterafterthemainrelease.

Ofimportantnotes:first,thismodkeepsdegradationsystemfromoriginalgame,butitwasreworkedtobemuchmorefairandadequate.Italsolimitsitemupgradestoamaximumof+3,butdonotfearaseverythingwasrebalancedaccordingly.Thesefeaturesareinherenttothegamesystemnowandtheywillnotberemoved.

Asasecondimportantnote,mindthatsubclasses,uniqueclassarmors,Lloyd'sBeaconandDewVialwereremovedfromthegame.Someofthesethingswerereworkedintosomethingdifferent(DewVial,uniqueclassarmors),whileotheraregonnabebroughtbacklater(subclasses,Lloyd'sBeacon).
