MetalDetectorisanapplicationwhichdetectsthepresenceofmetalnearbybymeasuringthemagneticfieldvalue.Thisusefultoolusesthemagneticsensorbuilt-inyourmobiledeviceandshowsmagneticfieldlevelinμT(microtesla).Themagneticfieldlevel(EMF)innatureisabout49μT(microtesla)or490mG(milligauss);1μT=10mG.Ifanymetalisnear,thevalueofmagneticfieldwillincrease.

MetalDetectorallowstoidentifyanymetalobjectinarea,becauseallmetalsgeneratemagneticfieldwhichstrengthcanbemeasuredwiththistool.

Usageisquitesimple:launchthisapplicationonyourmobiledeviceandmoveitaround.Youwillseethatthemagneticfieldlevelshownonscreenisconstantlyfluctuating.Colorfullinesrepresentthethreedimensionsandthenumbersontopshowsthevalueofmagneticfieldlevel(EMF).Thechartwillincreaseandthedevicewillvibrateandmakessoundsannouncingthatmetalisclose.Insettingsyoucanchangethesensitivityofvibrationandsoundeffects.

YoumightusetheMetalDetectorittofindelectricalwiresinwalls(likeastudfinder),ironpipesontheground...orpretendit'saghostdetectorandscaresomeone!Theaccuracyoftooldependsentirelyonthesensorinyourmobiledevice.Please,notethatduetoelectromagneticwaves,themagneticsensorisaffectedbyelectronicequipment.

Metaldetectorcannotdetectgold,silverandcoinsmadebycopper.Theyareclassifiedasnon-ferrousthathasnomagneticfield.Butmaybeyouwillfindmetalboxwithsometreasureinside!
