RxMonitorprovidesreal-timedisplayofmobilenetworkinformationthatthephonecommunicates.Basicnetworkinformation,callanddatastatuses,receivedradiosignalfromcellsitesareincluded.Clickingondisplayedinformationproduceshelpdialogexplainingmanytermsandacronyms.Cellinformationworksonalltechnologies:GSM,UMTS,LTE,NR.Showingcells'frequenciesrequiresAndroid7.0ornewer.NRrequiresAndroid10ornewer.

Chartforsignallevelisalsoavailableandcanbezoomed(pinch-zoom)andscrolled(swipediagonally)withblackverticallineappnotrunningatthatpoint.Eventstabshowschangestophonestatuswhichmaybeofinterest.Maptabshowstheinformationoverlaidonamap(GPSmustbeenabledfirst).

Withneighborcellinformation,followingareexamplesofusecasestohelpfiguringoutwhatishappeningwithyourmobilecoverage:

-FindouthowwellyouhaveLTEcoverage.WhetheryouareinthecellareawithstrongLTEsignalfromonecelloratsomewherearoundcelledgewhereLTEsignalfromtwoormorecellshavesimilarsignalstrength.Ifthecellyouareusinghasproblem,whetherthereisanyothercellwithgoodcoverageasbackup.

-Ifyourlocationonlyhas3Gcoverage,youcanfindoutwhatisthesignallevelofLTE.YoucanwalkaroundwiththisapptofindoutwhereLTEcoverageendsandtheservicedropsto3G.

-IfyouhaveAndroid7.0,youcanchecksignallevelofLTEbelongingtodifferentbands.Whatisthesignallevelofthebandyouprefer(forexamplewithlargebandwidth,4x4MIMO,etc.)andwhichbandthephoneisusing.

3.Logfilesaving.Logfileswillbecreatedinapp'sprivatefolder.LogfilescreatedduringpreviousappsessionscanbemovedtoapublicfolderviaoptionmenusothattheycanbemanagedbypopularFileManagerapps.Logfiles,bothinprivateandpublicfolders,canbeopenedusingFilestab.(Thistabisnotshownifthereisnologfiles.)LogfileisinsqlitedatabaseformatandisintheformRxMon--.dbIncaseoflogwritingerror,filewith.db-journalextensionisalsoproduced.The.db-journalfilewillhelpfixthedatabasewhenthe.dbfileisopened.
