ThePreventionTaskForce(formerlyePSS)isanapplicationdesignedanddevelopedbytheU.S.DepartmentofHealth&HumanServices(HHS),AgencyforHealthcareResearchandQuality(AHRQ),theNation'sleadFederalagencyforresearchonhealthcarequality,costs,outcomesandpatientsafety.ItwasdevelopedbyAHRQtosupporttheindependentU.S.PreventiveServicesTaskForce(USPSTF).TheUSPSTFisanindependent,volunteerpanelofnationalexpertsinpreventionandevidence-basedmedicine.AHRQprovidessupporttotheUSPSTF.ThePreventionTaskForceapplicationwasdevelopedtoassistprimarycarecliniciansidentifythescreening,counseling,andpreventivemedicationservicesthatareappropriatefortheirpatients.ThePreventionTaskForceinformationisbasedonthecurrentrecommendationsoftheU.S.PreventiveServicesTaskForce(USPSTF)andcanbesearchedbyspecificpatientcharacteristics,suchasage,sex,andselectedbehavioralriskfactors.Whenusingthistoolpleasereadthespecificrecommendationtodetermineifthepreventiveserviceisappropriateforyourpatient.Thistoolisnotmeanttoreplaceclinicaljudgmentandindividualizedpatientcare.*Applicationdownloadsanddataupdatesrequireinternetconnectivity
