TheNationalBisonAssociation(NBA),basedinWestminster,Colorado,isabreedassociationofproducers,processors,marketersandbisonenthusiasts.OurmissionistobringtogetherstakeholderstocelebratetheheritageofAmericanbison,toeducateandtocreateasustainablefutureforourindustry.Aspartofitsmission,theNBAdevelopsbison-specificeducationaltoolsoftenthroughthesupportofgrantfunding.TheNBAcurrentlyhasaUnitedStatesDepartmentofAgriculture(USDA)grantentitled“RecordKeepingforRiskMitigation”whichaimstoimprovetherecordkeepingskills,utilizationandanalysistargetedtonewandexistingbisonproducers.ThehallmarkoftheprojectistheNBABisonProducer’sApp,aforthcomingsmartphoneappthatproducerscanaccessinthefieldtorecordandanalyzedatatobettermitigateriskintheirbisonoperation.
