"GPSSendIt"isaverysimpleapptoquicklyshareyourLatitude,LongitudeandgeneraladdresslocationasprovidedbyGoogleServices.ThisappwasdevelopedbyaWildlandFirefighterwhowaslookingforanohasslemeanstoquicklysharelocationinformationinthewildlanduniformstandard(Fireaviation)GPSformatofDegrees,DecimalMinutes.Thisonlyhasonescreen,nomappingfunction,andonlythreefunctionbuttons.

Tousetheappsimplyopentheapplication,waitfortheGPSfixuponsatellitereception,entereitheraphonenumberoremailaddressmanually,orusethecontactpickerto[select]someonefromyourphone'sstorage,andclicktheSendPositionbutton.Informationwillbecopiedintoyourdefaulttextmessageapplication.Atthatpointyoucansendthetextasusualorchoosetoeditthemessagepriortosending.Whentherecipientopensthetext,theLat/Long,theaddressgiven(ifavailable),andaGoogleMaphyperlinkwillbedisplayedthatwillopenintheirdefaultmappingapplicationwithasingletap.

GPSendisnotlimitedtoonlywildfireuse,it'suseextendsintomanyotherpracticalareas.Sharelocationwhenmeetingsomeoneforcoffee,lunch,oranyothermeetinglocation.Greatwhilehikingtoshareyourdestination.
