GameRules
Callbreakisatrick-takingcardgameplayedwithastandard52-carddeckbetweenfourplayers.Thereare5roundsinagame.Players'sittingdirectionandthefirstdealerareselectedbeforethefirstroundbegins.Torandomizeplayer'ssittingdirectionandthefirstdealer,eachplayerdrawsacardfromthedeck,andbasedontheorderofthecards,theirdirectionsandfirstdealerarefixed.Dealersarechangedsuccessivelyinanti-clockwisedirectioninthefollowingrounds.
Deal
Ineachround,adealerstartingfromtheirright,dealsallthecardsinanti-clockwisedirectiontoalltheplayerswithoutrevealinganycard,making13cardspereachplayer.
Bidding
Allfourplayers,startingfromtheplayertodealer'srightbidanumberoftricksthattheymustwininthatroundinordertogetapositivescore,otherwisetheywillgetanegativescore.
Play
InCallbreak,Spadesarethetrumpcards.
Ineachtrick,playermustfollowthesamesuit;ifunable,playermustplayatrumpcardifeligibletowin;ifunable,playercanplayanycardoftheirchoice.
Playermustalwaystrytowinthetrick,inotherwords(s)hemustplayhighercardspossible.
Thefirsttrickinaroundisledbyplayertodealer'srightwithanycardofanysuit.Eachplayer,inturnplaysinanti-clockwisedirection.Atrickcontainingaspadeiswonbythehighestspadeplayed;ifnospadeisplayed,thetrickiswonbythehighestcardofthesamesuit.Thewinnerofeachtrickleadstothenexttrick.
Scoring
Playerthattakesatleastasmanytricksasherbidreceivesascoreequaltoherbid.Additionaltricks(OverTricks)areworthanextra0.1timesonepointeach.Ifunabletogetthestatedbid,scorewillbedeductedequaltothestatedbid.After4roundsarecompleted,scoresaresummedtohelpplayerssetagoalfortheirfinalround.Afterthefinalround,winnerandrunner-upsofthegamearedeclared.
