1775:RebellionisbasedontheawardwinningboardgamedevelopedbyAcademyGames.
Themapboardrepresentstheoriginal13ColoniesplusMaine,NovaScotia,andQuebec.EachColonyisfurthersubdividedintoareasoverwhichfactionswillstruggleforcontrol.AfactionholdscontrolofaColonywhenonlyunitsofitssidearepresentintheareasofaColony.PlayercontrolledfactionsincludetheContinentalArmy,PatriotMilitia,BritishRegularsandLoyalistMilitia.InadditiontothistheAlliedFrenchandAlliedHessianfactions,whicharecontrolledbyAmericanandBritishforcesrespectively,canbebroughtintothegamebyeventcardsplayablebyeachfaction.
Eachgameisplayedinaseriesofrounds.Victoryconditionsarecheckedforeachsidestartingonroundthreeandeachgameendswithvictorypointsbeingtalliedautomaticallyonroundeightifnoonehaswonbeforethen.Eachroundissubdividedintofourturns,oneforeachside,whichhappeninorderdeterminedbyablinddrawoftheturnmarkerforeachfaction.Itisentirelypossibleforafactiontogolastinapreviousroundonlytogofirstinthenext.
Movement&Events
EveryFactionhasadeckofcardsconsistingofEventcards,Movementcards,andoneTrucecard.Everyturn,eachfactionwillplayamovementcardtomaneuvertheirtroopsandanynumberofeventcards.Whenbothfactionsofaside(BritishorAmerican)haveplayedtheirtrucecards,thegamewillend!Eachdeckhasaspecificnumberofmovementcardsinitandmanagingthemisanimportantpartofthegame.
EachfactionhasaTrucecardwhichservesnotonlyasatimerforthegamebutasapowerfulMovementcard.However,agamemayendprematurelyifbothfactionsofasideareforcedtoplayitearlyinthegame.
