NWS Weather Alerts Widget

NOTE:BasedontheadvertisedAPIChangesregardingbackgroundservicesinAndroidOreo,I'malmostpositivethisappwillhavegottenbrokenbyandprobablywon'tworkcorrectlyonOreo(symptomswillbethatthewidgetneverupdates).IhopetomakeaversionthatworksonOreosoon,butaslongasthismessageisstillhere,Ihaven'tyet.

ThisisanAndroidhomescreenwidgettodisplaycurrentweatheralertsfromtheUSNationalWeatherService.

YoucanchooseacountyorstatewithintheUS(ortheentireUS)anditwilldisplayalistofallofthecurrentweatheralertsforthatareaonthewidget.Ifthere'smorethanfits,thelistscrolls,andyoucantaponanalerttoopenthefulltextofthealert.Thereisanaccompanyingappwhichcanbeusedtoconfigurewhatareayouwantandshowstherawfeeddataifyou'rereallycurious(thoughthatpartwasmostlytherefordebugging,andmightgoawayoneofthesedaysnowthatitallworks).Itdoesnotcurrentlydoaudiblealerts(oranyalerts),butthat'sprobablycomingsoon.

IcreatedthisbecauseIwantedatabletonthewallinmykitchentodisplayweatheralertsonthescreen,andforalltheplethoraofweatherappsoutthere,Icouldn'tfindonethatshowedanythingmorethana(!)iconontheirwidgetsforalerts,andyouhadtoclickthroughtofindoutwhattheywere.Someofthemwouldputthealertsintothenotificationbar,butthatwasn'tmuchbetter.Sothisonedisplaysalistofthecurrentalertsrightonthewidget,andthatistheonlypurposeofthewidget.
